blonde or not blonde?

I just realised that after so many years of debating whether I wanted to go blonde, I should have just gone for it.  I mean I didn't look terrible in my natural hair colour...but somehow it didn't look too nice.  It made my features so much more sharp and noticeabley misplaced I guess you could say.

I mean compare pre blonde

and post blonde

I think the blonde gives me a better complexion that's not that too harsh.  the colours that make up me work better together.  It even kind of makes my eyes stand out more!  X3 oh man I can't believe I didn't go blond sooner~

I just hope I don't look back a few years later and wonder why I did it.  I know we all make mistakes with our choices.  But sometimes when we take a big risk it pays off..sometimes it blows up in our faces.  here's hoping that when I look back to these photos, I don't horrify myself XD;;

It better be worth it.  My experience with bleachig happened to be on the more extreme side >__>
it took 6-7 hours mang D=  At the end of it I wiped my stylist of bleach x__X;;
and it still wasn't enough.  I had to go back again for a touch-up

I was also afraid of going too blonde and REALLY killing my hair.  I remember when my bf had his hair bleached when we were younger...LOL He told me he went to a crapy hair place... whew glad I didn't skimp out on my hair!  His hair was dry and hard and that left me a little (alot) shaken about going too blonde.

Luckily my hair stylist said that I could go a shade or two lighter and my hair would still be fine.  =) Lucky I think I do want to go lighter. X3 it's been looking good for my complextion so far!

prepping back to school hauln' (pic heavy ish?)

I've been trying not to buy more small trinkets and junk into the home, but @__@ with school coming up, I realised I don't have anymore school supplies.  >__>;; haha call me crazy but I do enjoy shopping for stationary and cuteness!

The next thing has nothing to do with school, but I got something I normally wouldn't get.  I ordered online ( actually did a lot of online shopping for some reason) and I ended up getting a rock & republic blush in call me XD ahhh it's sooo pretty!

It a really soft peachy rose colour that I think is very appropriate for fall and even winter.  It's very pigmented and I think it will last for a really long time.  Plus I know this shouldn't matter, but the packaging is so detailed!

And last I got some more euricin stuff.  I liked the night cream so much, I bought the rest of the line.  Here's hoping these don't break me out either!

Daiso Goodness ^_^

So I'm recently going on this gyaru craze.  I mean I've bleached my hair willy nilly, I've really turned my wardrobe around and my makeup style is terribley different.  I always thought it would be so difficult/ expensive to change my style completely.  Well it kind of is, but I was surprised to find these accessories!

Oh Daiso, you are too dangerous @__@ everytime I go there I gotta leave with something~

Haul time~

So my bf came back from his vacation and he brought me back a little something X3
First of all I'd like to say I think it's funny how he had to go asia to get me a viva glam cindy ^^::
For serious, I'm starting to get annoyed with MAC; I went to their store and asked for the viva cindy and the girl very politely said that they sold out, but if I wanted to be on their mail list, they could contact me.  They never did D=

Anyways~ onto the hauulll <3

While he was in singapore, I asked for some dolly wink stuff.  I would have thought that it would have been cheaper.  But no...aparantly they were super expensive D=
>___< but I've been hearing so many raves on their liquid eyeliner and eylash glue that I couldn't not ask ;___;  Also he got me some solid perfumes and a bust lift XD;;
Ok I'm too young to use the bust lift but I thought it would be good in a year or so.  Preventing is key right?

BAM close-up of dolly wink XD

product fail timmeee =)

FAIL

I've been meaning to do this a while.  I'm actually fusterated with this because I have so many.  The reason being that I bought this when I first started my interest in skin care aka when my natural youth glow stopped ~__~ lol

But anyways continuing on why I have so many.  I got this when bath and body works wasn't in Van so I went on a trip to the States and I was overwhelmed with all the scents you could get in a lotion.  Well that was just unheard of @___@

There was also the deal they normally have that if you buy however many you get that much free.  So I ended up getting 6 of their signature collection body lotion.

For the first two months I LOVED the stuff.  Not only did it help make me smell amazing, it was pretty moisturizing.  But at that time I only moisturized my arms lightly.  So I'm stuck with a giant amount first of all.  When I decided to try to use more by lotioning my whole body after a shower (like you're supposed to lol) I noticed it was gross!

It took forever to sink in and while I had to wait (I'm not a patient person at all) I still had to do things.  I got lotion everywhere!

Also I'm still learning the science behind skin care and found out the reason why they're so inexpensive.  It may sound great that they use mineral oils and vitamins, but first of all, the amount of vitamins are very low.  Second of all the alot of the mineral oils just coat your skin to "lock" moisture in.  It sound pleasing until you realize it's trapping alot of other garbage your skin is trying to expell.

So as much as I was trying to use it up, I think it's time for me to face my mistake and throw the bunch out T__T;

Arbonne haul time/ mini review =)

They're a new company (we relatively new) You need to find a representative to get these products and I think they're a great price for the kind of products you get.  The ladies are very helpful and go into detail about your skin and how it works and what's good for it.  It was like a mini science class (but I didn't fall asleep this time XD ) You order with them and then it comes a week later in a neat little package like this =D

Call me a sucker for the most superficial things, but it makes me so happy that it comes in a cute little package!  I only got 3 things.  I wanted to get so much more, but I kept reminding myself of the pile of things I'm waiting to use still ^_^;;

But there were three things that I was absolutely in love with.  Well I was definitely in love with them when I was testing them out.  I've used two of the three things already.
I had gotten brightening hand and body creme, eye cream, and spf lip balm.

So far I can say that the eye cream is pretty good.  Much better than the one I was using before. =___=;; I'll make a review on it.  (It was such a waste of money)  I really like this eye cream though, it does a good job at brightening my under eye area and it fills in fine lines.  Though I get the feeling like it does it temporarily.  But then again I do tug at my under eye area a lot since I wear contacts..and I squint XD

I'm trying to get rid of that habit, so alot of the times I catch myself squinting and then I force myself out of it by doing this half surprised look.  XD;; it's so lame, but I seems to be working.

But moving on to the next thing, which is the spf lip balm.  I like it a lot, but I think it needs to be prepped with another lip conditioner.  At least for me and it's because my lips are suuuper sensitive.  I really mean it.  If it doesn't agree with something it'll just hive and blotch and I'll end up looking like a burn victim for a month...Yeah it's that bad.

The lip balm is good, it doesn't contain petroleum or silicon or paraben.  Which is a big BIG plus, because I think of how much lip product I actually ingest and it's kind of disgusting.  I put this stuff on and I don't need to do anything else to keep it moisturized for the rest of the day. =) it's pretty great.

Ped Egg ( breast cancer edition)

First of all I'd like to say that I bought this purely because it was pink and it was supporting breast cancer research.  Haha that was completely shallow of me, but I guess that's what they were marketing towards right?  So the packaging was sealed very well.  In fact don't like that kind of sealing.  It makes for very awkward times for somebody as clumsy as me.  Luckily the outcome was great, I came out unscathed.

But onto the actual product.  I like the type of plastic.  It's light and is textured for better grip.  Also because it's plastic and metal, it made cleaning super easy.  I don't like to do anything to the heal of my foot, because the more I sand away, the rougher the skin can come back.  But I don't know what happened, the whether final started to warm up in van and I had to start wearing sandals.  I started to notice my feet were in terrible condition.

So I just sat myself down in front of the TV and filed away.  Surprisingly the file part wasn't as rough and intense as it looks.  I thought it was going to take chunks of skin away, but it lightly took away dead skin cells.  The PedEgg also came with a buffer, which I was thankful for.  I mean I'm not too great so it was quite uneven.  The buffer made it appear I knew how to make my feet look perfect XD

Wonder Curler Review

This electric eyelash curler works kind of like a traditional eyelash curler in the sense that it crimps your eyelash.  It requires 2 AAA batteries and has a temperature sensitive silicon pad that changes colour when it's ready to be used.  It retails for about $10.00 but I got it for $5.00

Why I got it discounted?  I found it at Winners.  I looked into the company a little bit and couldn't find anything about them.  There was a url on the box, but that link goes nowhere.  So I assume they went out of business.

Why review a product that can't be bought anymore?  Because there are tons of products like it.  It's just that this one particular company went out of business.

I have to say I've wanted one for a while, but then I forgot about it.  My eyelashes were never anything spectacular.  Yes I use mascara and yes I use a regular eyelash curler, but it never did anything major.  I naturally have course hair so my eyelashes tend to just stick straight.

But then I was watching a video from meepo's channel and saw that she bought this at Winners.  I saw it myself at my local Winners and picked it up.  I'm glad to say it works very well.  It heats up quickly and my curl is so much more noticeable.

I can't believe how much more feminine I look now that I can see my eyelashes!

Haul time~

So this summer, I've kind of calmed down with the hauls.  I can't seem to use up enough things to balance out the things I buy.  I've been really good about it, but sometimes I just can't help it haha~

Ahh all four things I was watching videos and these were all raved about so...^^;; I had to get them..

Buuut on the other hand I've been finishing alot of things.  Surprisingly they all started to finish at once!

Product Fail

So I was thinking that I was doing a lot of rave reviews, but it wasn't all that easy finding the stuff I really like.  When I started to get things, people's opinions really made an influence on the things I wanted to buy (still do).  So obviously when I heard people rave about something I had to go get it.

Which did not end well I must say @___@;;
I did end up getting a lot of things I regret buying so I was thinking of doing a simple little "these products fail" type of entries =D

A while back I was looking for a good lip conditioner, because my lips are horribly dry and they crack and peel a lot.  C.O. Bigelow was really popular then, especially their rose salve.  At first I really liked it.  It was super moisturizing and it lasted for a really long time.  But I noticed recently that after a while it likes to travel all over my face, but mainly to my chin.  Which is horrible because I have a ton of tiny breakouts that aren't going away.  So fail -__-

Nivea Visage Gentle Toner Review

I've been turned off of toners, because the one I used a long time ago was alcohol-based.  My skin dries out very easily so when I was using that toner, my skin looked terrible!  But I was looking through Shopper's and saw a pink bottle of toner.  That's terrible to base your decision on the colour of the packaging, buuut I did end up looking at the ingredients and it was alcohol free.  Instead most of it's ingredients were water and glycerin.

On my normal skin care routine, I typically use the toner after I wash my face.  However sometimes my sleeping schedule becomes sporadic and I sometimes only sleep a couple of hours in between.  If i just washed my face and I have to get up 4-5 hours later, I typically just skip washing my face and go straight to the toning.

This product is super gentle, but effective.  It doesn't dry out my skin and in fact it leaves it lightly moisturized.  Extra dirt gets cleaned off, which keeps breakouts at minimum =)

I'm already on my second bottle and I don't find the need to search for another toner~

Eurecin Review

I think I've found my new love!

I know I've read that Eurecin has been known to calm the skin, but there aren't very much near where I live.  However a couple of weeks back I went down to the states for a day trip.  On my way home I was just browsing through riteaid and saw some.  They were on sale so I thought "why not".  I was wondering which one I should pick up.  The night cream was the last of my list.

I have really sensitive skin and something really thick would effect my skin in a negative way.  But I was reading though the ingredients and I found licorice root in it!  Licorice root was in one of the higher end lotions I was using.

I picked it up and I used it last night.  I wanted to wait to do a formal review.  But this morning I had no redness on my face and alot of my acne cooled down!

HA TAKE THAT SKIN!

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Hype

Well I always wanted to know what the hype about Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick was all about.  I kept thinking to myself that it couldn't have been that great.  Because we've all been down that road of disappointment before.

I was really surprised to find them in a CCO.  There were three kinds, the apricot, bronze and one in between.  Now that I think about it, I should have picked up the bronze instead of the apricot.

Don't get me wrong, I love the apricot.  But I think I have waaayyy to many blushes already ^^;;
And I'm not the biggest fan of bronzer, but the Shimmer Brick series had such a soft and subtle glow.

Cuz BAM is that not amazing looking? @___@

I have to say, using this product is a dream.  I've been using mostly drugstore stuff right now and for things like lipsticks, sometimes I actually prefer the drugstore.  But for powders, I think it's very hard or a drugstore brand to deliver as smooth of an application as a high end brand.

Big, biiiiggggg thumbs up for this product!

long time no blog

So I've been on this hiatus for no reason.  I guess I've just got so much stuff I want to talk about piled high, I don't know where to start.  So I'll start from what I had in the begining I guess =)

I had a haul from waaaayyyy back.  I may have meantioned this earlier but I think I'm turning into a skin care junkie more than anything.

La Senza was having a sale back and I just couldn't resist getting some of their lotions to try out.

  I just couldn't resist X3 They smell so go.  I didn't really expect them to be moisturizing.  I bought them so that they could be a good base for my perfumes.  But actually they're really moisturizing!

I have the strawberry fizz lotion, one of the candy body soufles and the rose body butter away to friends.  But I did try the others.  Amber Rose I think has to be my favourite.  I'm not much of a fan of amber, because it is quite overpowering, but it's really sutle.  There's a stronger smell of vanilla and taht combination is very soft and comforting.

The Candy body soufle is something I haven't had time to try yet long term, but I couldn't resist lathering some on to try XD;;
It was sooo light.  I don't know why I've never thought about looking for body souffles before!

nailpolish hassel D=

I can't not paint my nails, but I'm a giant clutz.  Every time I paint my nails at least one will be scuffed.

It's terrible to see when I've spent so much effort on making the coats even @_@

So I can't get Seche Vite where I live, so I tried something else that claimed to do essencially the same job.
So I decided to try Rimmel's 60 seconds top coat.  Well to my dissapointment, it didn't actually dry in 60 seconds.  But it did cut down the time by a little over half.

Normally it would take about a little over an hour for my nails to try, but now only 20 mins.

I can't say that's the best results, but after years of scuffing, I'd say this is pretty good start.

"Lushious Affair"?

I think it was about 2 months ago that there was a huge Lush craze going around.  Even I jumped onto the band wagon and bought tons and tons of soaps, bath bombs, and skin care products.  I was overwhelmed with how much variety there was; the different yummy smells helped!  But just being introduced into skin care, I didn't know much else about it.  So I thought that it was great that everything I needed was in one convenient store.

The first thing I tried were the bath bombs.  I instantly fell in love with them.  Who could resist the cutest bath products that turned the water into different colours and made them smell amazing? I never used to enjoy baths, but every bath bomb was it's own experience.  I think my favourite one is still the sex bomb.  (It doesn't really smell like sex...bleh *bad mental image*)

The second thing I tried were the soaps.  I love the way they look and every soap has it's benefits.  But my favourite is 13 unlucky for dirt.  It has to be one of the most convenient soaps for travelling.  I recently went to Asia and it's difficult to bring liquid things so a solid soap is a good thing.

And finally their skin care products.  I have to say it's only mediocre.  For that price I don't think it's worth getting.  I haven't seen any results with any of their skin care line, but I still used it.  Usually I would just stop if it didn't give me any results...but it was so expensive for what they were!

Now I've given a couple of months to use all my Lush products and I have to say, that now the hype is over for me, I don't really see the big deal with Lush anymore.  I mean it was fun, but as for skin care I didn't see dramatic results if any.

I do give them props for making their things organic, though their sales associates didn't really know what they were talking about.  I mean they did know the general facts about their products, but when I asked something like if the lotions were water based or not, they didn't know.  Even when I said that oil based lotions will break me out and that I have super sensitive skin, they still recommended me lotions that I later found out, were oil based.

So my conclusion is that it was fun.  I'd say no to the skin care products and every now and then pick up a bath bomb to get super relaxed!

crazy for perfume!

I love perfumes! I really need to stop buying perfumes and body sprays, but I can't help it!  Every time I stop by a shop that has perfumes, I'll just start smelling all these wonderful scents ~_~

On the bright side, I have a pretty good collection going on, full of great memories =D

I have an even distribution of perfumes, toilettes, and body sprays.  I only have one solid perfume, but man does it smell great.  I love all my scents, but I think this has got to be my absolute favourite; especially for the summer.

I've had mine for a while, but the scent is just as strong as the day I bought it.  I don't know, it makes me feel so romantic- like an old Holliwood star~

On their website, they said that Gardenia is the main scent that you would smell with back notes of ylang ylang, osmanthus and jasmine.

It is a pretty strong scent, but that's why I fell in love with it.  The first time I came across this perfume, it instantly brought back a memory of when I was in elementary still.  I felt like I was actually walking by the flowers that bloomed in the spring.  When they bloomed the air was sickingly sweet and heavy; that's what this perfume could achieve that no other floral based perfume could.

There was a scene from an international film based off of a German book called Das Perfum.  Where the perfume maker caught the scent of this boy's creation.  At that time I thought that it was just a nice montage, but when I smelled this solid perfume, I had a moment similar to that.
Epic I know~

They also make scented candles, lotions, body butters, soaps, and actual perfumes too~ I highly recomend people try this <3

Project 10 pan

So I've been wanting to try project 10 pan for a while.  Well, technically I have tried it once already...But I failed so hard >__<
Last time, my makeup collection was not as big as it is now so when one of the item on the list was a mascara (my only mascara) you see my problem XD
So this time, I've decided to do one again.  Only this time I have extras of things.  I do like trying out new things and I especially love trying out recomendations that I see on youtube <3

5. softlips chap stick
5. e.l.f. lip plumper (oasis)

Running out of time for Valentine's Day!

I think one of the most important date/ holiday (to me) is Valentine's day.  Not only is it a symbol for eternal love it's also my aniversarry.  Talk about pressure to bring on a memorable day x__x;;

So this year I've been thinking about how my previous years were stressful yes, but I didn't have to deal with break outs.  What kind of a date is it if you're not confident about yourself!
On the bright side, I've come very far since the begining of my obsession with makeup.  Well...I'm still not a pro at it, but this year I've actually got a Valentine's Day look!

In my opinion, like almost every holiday, you get away with a bit more dramatic makeup even in the day.  Although my look isn't that crazy, I think it's dramatic enough that it'll tie you over till dark ^_~ so you can have fun without touching up!
Here it is with my eyes closed
Here it is with them open =D

@_@ I always seem to run out of time.  Wish me luck!

Haul time =D

I'm so excited I get to do a haul <3 ~ One of my favourite things to watch are hauls and I can finally start some of my own XD
Watching hauls has given me great tips and ideas as to what's worth taking a look at.  I've gotten these things over a period of times (sales are awesome~ ).

I think out of all the makeup related things I collect, I'd say I collect perfumes (and body sprays) and skin care things.  When I first started getting into makeup (which was a little over a year ago) I was crazy over eye shadows!  But then I got the 120 pallette and my obsession over eye shadows kind of stopped.  Haha I mean when you have that many eye shadows you kind of realise very quickly that I could never wear alot of the colours on a day to day basis x__x;;

Also over the span of the year, I've also realised that some products are worth the extra money and some products have excellent duplicates.  I love to find a more inexpensive alternative, which is why everytime I get to go to a drug store, I end up going to the cosmetics isle XD

I'd say out of the things I got, there are 5 things that youtube has convinced me I needed!

Reviews on them are coming soon =O
