Review time! (Maybelline Eye Studio)

As you all know I love Maybelline products =^__^=
I don't think I've ever been super dissapointed in anything I've gotten.

Why I decide to try gel liners again was that the last one I tried had great staying power.  I just didn't like the fact that you had to clean the brush constantly after every use.  However the pros heavily outweighs the cons.

I've been hearing mixed reviews of this particular product and I just wanted to know for myself.  Because if it'll work for me it'll work for anybody.

You may know that almost nothing stays on my eyes.  Which includes Urban Decay 24/7 liners (which have been raved again and again to be one of the best liners), which I can say that they're only ok.  So for that price I'd like to say no thank you.

This gel liner came with it's own brush, which I thought "ugh another crappy brush that I'll never use"
But not true, it's actually a decent brush, comparable to my E.L.F. professional liner brush.

It comes with 0.106 oz / 3 g

The lid is made of hard plastic and I find seals better than the L'oreal H.I.P gel liner (though I loved that liner, it dried out too quickly)

I've only had the Maybelline liner for less than a month, so I'll let you know if it dried out too quickly~

It looks soft but the consistansy is actually quite stiff.  Which I think  is actually a good thing.  The first time I used L'oreal's HIP gel liner, I was a little bit too enthusiastic and made a giant hole in it, which is fine, but I had to massively clean the brush XD;;

This gives you a much better control of how much product you need.  I can also say that it has 7.5/10 opaque result.

I've since tried it without a powder to go over top and I have to say that the staying power is also mediocre.

I'd say better than the Urban Decay liner though.

But not as good as my Arbonne pencil linerrrrrr X3
man I love that stuff XD

Conclusion:

I wouldn't rebuy, because it still smudges a little
I am however it doesn't smudge too much and it's still useable
^__^ money not completely wasted!

Haul time =D

So I was just checking though my folders and I cam across this, I swore I did a post on this D=
Well damn lol
I thought I would jump the gun and get the Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse while it was still new.

A list of what I got: (left to right)
NYX Jumbo eye pencil
NYC Blushable Cream Stick
Forever 21 Blush
NYC Mosaic Blush in Peach
Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse in classic ivory and creamy natural

I'd have to say that I loooove maybelline foundations, X3 lol I think enough to know that this product has way too much hype.

I think I'll do a seperate review on it ~

Haul time =D

Sorry for the no post!  Just moved hehe it's been a lil hectic!  So it's officially terrible to live here D=   It's -10 C aaaand it's humid here, so the "wet" air is feels a lot colder.  To make things worse, it's extra windy.  I don't like the fact that there are a lot of jackets that I can't wear because yes, I'll be warm on top, but FREEZING on the bottom D=

Here are some things that will make me feel better lol XD
I was in Winners just to stop by and check out the holiday perfumes and such and I ended up finding these chocolate bars.  It really reminds me of L4D for some reason so I couldn't resist X3

Okok chocolate isn't really a necessity, but gloves definately are.  Last year I lost my leather gloves, so I needed a new pair.  I'm not too sure they're real leather, but it works for me.  All I care about is that it blocks wind (my hand gets cold so easily x___x) and the fact that they're so damn cute XD

Closer view of the back, I love the detailing @___@ so romantic~

When I was in the States, I didn't pick up much makeup/beauty wise, but I did end up getting these things.  I love the Eucerin line and while I was there I couldn't resist getting a new variation to try.  Plus so much cheaper to get in the states laaaa~
Also I've been wanting to get a powder sunscreen with high spf (review coming up soooon)
And after watching secretlifeofbionerd, I had to try aquaphor for myself.  I think it's a great alternative for a lot of things, maybe I'll do a review/ how to post~

Random, I went to Daiso and picked up another headband and this dainty tape and cute gift bags to decorate gifts hehe~

Wet n Wild colour eyecon eye shadows review (lots of pics)

I've told myself that I don't need anymore eye shadows, but then again who am I kidding? XD
I've heard a lot of hype on things before and I've fallen into those traps before and I'm sure many of you have too right? ^^;
But these colours looked like they were actually usable for everyday looks.  I used to us very colourful looks, but now it seems inappropriate for my age XD

From left to right:
Lust
Nutty
Vanity
I actually thought I wasn't going to like vanity, because it reminded me of one of the Revlon colour stay's eyeshadow palette.  But actually seeing it in person, really changed my opinion.

Note: Opening the palette, peel the sticker off first instead of opening it from the dotted line on the bottom.

I've been really wanting warm coloured eyeshadow, I've had bad experiences with them before, but that's because I think I wasn't very good at using them. I know cool colours I can only wear for events and things like that, because using them for everyday, they REALLLY stand out @__@;;

So like most of the palettes from this line, one side is matte and the other is shimmery/glittery.
This one had actual glitter particles in the shadow and I was thinking oh great I'm not going to use that side at all, but you know what? Little to no fallout!

Here are the swatches of the Lust palette.  The last colour looks kind of un-pigmented because it kind of matched my skin XD;;

Next here is the Vanity palette. Like I mentioned before, I wasnt' going to get it, but when I saw the colours in person, the colours looked so much more appealing.
I think I especially enjoy the shimmery side more.  The colour apply a lot softer and complement the eyes.  This palette is definitely great for someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup, or has a modest style, but wants the option of looking dressy.

Sorry for awkward angle, it was the only way the colours would show up nicely ^^;;
The matte colours are more sheer than the shimmer colours, but they definitely go on the eyes very pigmented.
The other side are shimmers not glitter, this palette tends to be over all more wearable compared to the vanity palette.

The last one is nutty, I forgot to do swatches for this, but I think is a great all over colour.  It's shade is neutral, but deep enough to give your eyes a bit of definition.  Something unique about this shadow is do you see the green/blue/silver shimmer?

Over all I'm very pleased with their eyeshadow range.  They are very nicely pigmented, the colours are very wearable and they have little to no fallout.

I've also heard good stuff about their bronzers and blushes.  I think I might check that out ^__^

Haul time!!

I was watching youtube vids again X3;;

And I remembered there was some stuff I wanted to get at target~
They always get the cutest hello kitty stuff @___@ cannot resist man~

These were a dollar each XD
So cute and practical, they have magnets on the back of the notes so that you can remember stuff~

Sorry this is a terrible picture, but I love the throw blanket and the pink towel =D

What I'm most excited about are these.  I know it's already winter and I'm pale as crap now D= But I still feel like I should wear a good spf.  Fortunately physician's formula makes a powder form.  Good, because I don't like putting oily stuff on my face anyways.  It usually feels like it's going to slide off my face, but not the powder!
I think it feels like not only will it protect me from uv light, but it's a decent setting powder.  This feels like their regular consistancy for pressed powders.  Not like their fail one D= which oxydized the moment I used it.

Review time! (rating and compare!)

Whooh I feel like I'm getting into another groove of writing X3
So this post is kind of special.  I've been waiting 2 years to write this review and comparison, because I felt like I needed enough time and used a wide variety of products for me to write about this.

My body runs of the dry side.  Even in the summer I need a moisturizer to give me that youthful glow (which I'm already supposed to have lol).  So now that it's winter I find that it's especially important to use good moisturizer.

Now I've complained about bath and body works moisturizers before, and I even though they said that they just reformulated it, I don't actually have an urge to go try them.  Their body creams are not bad, nice to use if you want something to play with?

Something that is definately worth your time are Body Shop's body butter.  Their new stock are all paraben free and they are cruelty free.  One of their main ingredients are coco butter, which I find "melts" into the skin so easily.  You have to let it sink in for a little bit (it is a body butter after all XD) but after less than 5 minutes, I can do my daily things.

L'occitane make a great hand cream, but I find that it's a thicker product and for it's consistancy, it absorbs into the skin fairly fast.  But since it is such a thick product, I only use it on my hands, elbows, knees, and ankles.

On the lower end of the spectrum, Victoria's Secret also makes some great body butters.  I was shocked.  I only bought one because it smelled good X3 I know that's bad; that's exactly how I ended up with 6 Bath and Body Works lotions (boo)
But actually Victoria's Secret body products are really great.  In fact I kind of like the result better.  It makes your skin really soft and silky.  No joke =O
It actually looks and feels equally good.  Only problem is that it does contain paraben among other things lol.

Something that I really think is a treat for your body is Arbonne's body gele, but I think it might be a better product to use in the summer.  It's from their detoxifying line, but it's best used for sun damage.

Oh you know how I said you shouldn't just buy a product on how it smells?  The first body butter I bought was from got2b in 2 spabutta up body butter.  It smelled amazing.
It smelled of honey and almonds and milk.  It was definately something you'd want to put on your skin.  But this made me hate body butters for a long while and this product does contain paraben.

In the end no matter what moisturizer you choose, make sure you know what you want in the long run.  Also body butters are not supposed to feel like you just slathered on a layer of oil XD;;

Review time! Bath things~

So it's winter time, and the weather is cold and extra harsh on the skin so as always it's good to start your good skin care in the shower!

I used to use bar soap, because they are more accessible and they tend to be more gentle.  Then I discovered Bath and Body Works!

I loooove their shower gels.  They aren't super moisturizing, in fact I don't find them moisturizing in general, but I feel so clean afterward and it smells amazing! I'm especially loving Velvet Tuberose for the winter. I feel like it's just heavy enough without giving me a headache.

I know I like to promote natural products for the skin, but I can't find another product that makes me feel as clean~

I was into Lush soap for a while, because they smell equally nice and they are natural versus the Bath and Body Works shower gel.  I think they are both good enough to mention.
Right now, I think I lean towards the shower gel because I like using the shower puff thing and it's so convenient.  I think the soap bar is a bit more work to lather into a foam, which if you know me, I like the easy XD

Something to complain about though, is the Aveeno Eczema Skincare Body Wash.  Ok ok I admit it's kind of moisturizing, but I just can't get over the fact that it smells like chalk.  My body gets pretty dry and itchy, so I thought this was a good idea, but it wasn't!! It claims to gently cleanse and moisturize itchy, red, and extra dry skin.  The end result isn't like that.  In fact it felt like I didn't take a shower at all. Sounds kind of disgusting? I think so @__@;;

Won't be purchasing that again D=...
